The Virgin has many different names. Depending on the country, her name changes, so to speak.

For example, in Mexico, she is known as the Virgin of Guadalupe; in Paraguay, the Virgin of the Assumption, and the Virgin of Charity of El Cobre in Cuba. All, in some way, are the same woman.

Some Indians were carrying the image of Our Lady of Saint Anne to a somewhat distant place in Honduras.

They passed through Santa Ana at night and decided to sleep in a large ceiba tree located in the only square of the place, called at that time Sihuatehuacan.

The next day at dawn, they wanted to lift the image to continue their pilgrimage, but something was happening that prevented them from continuing their journey.

The Virgin became very heavy and it was impossible to move her, so they decided to leave her at that site. Later, a hermitage was built there, and then a church.

Suddenly, a strange, tall, and beautiful woman carrying a bundle in her apron and a jug of water on her head, appeared to them and began to give them water to drink.

After all this, they realized that this strange lady was actually Our Lady of Saint Anne who had freed them from that battle.
