Vice President Kamala Harris has made a decision on her running mate, CNN reports.
Four people close to the process tell CNN that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is her choice.
Walz, a former educator, is currently in his second term as governor of Minnesota.
He chairs the Democratic Governors Association.
Tim Walz: Congressional Experience and Harris’ Election
He previously served 12 years in Congress, representing a conservative-leaning rural district.
This district has been largely dominated by Republicans before and after his term.
Harris was officially announced last night as the Democratic Party’s candidate for the presidency of the United States.
Today she officially revealed the name of the vice presidential candidate who will accompany her in the elections on November 5.
She won 99% of the votes of the 4,567 Democratic Party delegates in a referendum.
Harris will be the first Black woman to run for President of the United States.
She will compete against former Republican President Donald Trump.
Harris had already secured the support of a sufficient number of Democratic delegates last Friday.
She now chose her running mate without the need for a vote within the Democratic party.
Harris revealed her pick Tuesday at a campaign rally in Philadelphia.

The Democratic Party congratulated Harris and posted several photos on its X account.
Harris interviewed the three candidates on Sunday at her official residence in Washington.
The candidates are Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly.
Harris and her vice presidential candidate will begin a tour in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
The tour will continue in Eau Claire, Detroit, Durham, Savannah, Phoenix and Las Vegas.
