The Democratic candidate for the White House, Kamala Harris, distances herself from the recent controversy generated by President Joe Biden.

The president called Donald Trump’s followers «trash» after a racist comment by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe about Puerto Ricans.

“I totally disagree with criticizing people based on who they vote for,” Harris declared from Andrews Air Force Base.

Although Biden has already «clarified his comments,» Harris repudiated any divisive speech in American society.

The Democratic candidate Kamala Harris reiterated her call for national unity, a message she highlighted at a rally in front of the White House.

«As president, I will represent all Americans, whether they support me or not,» Harris said.

Biden made the controversial statement on CNN, defending Puerto Rico against the insult of a comedian at a Trump rally in New York.

«The only trash I see is his followers,» Biden said, drawing criticism from Trump and other Republicans.

Trump reacted at a rally in Pennsylvania, claiming that Biden «really doesn’t know what he said.»

Biden later clarified on social media that his words were referring to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s «hateful rhetoric.»
