- Emma Coronel’s supervised release has been changed.
- A judge has imposed new restrictions.
- Are they afraid that she could escape?
The District Court of the District of Columbia issued an order on Tuesday adjusting the conditions of Emma Coronel’s supervised release.
It should be remembered that the El Chapo Guzmán’s wife was released on September 13 after serving a reduced sentence.
Given this, the modification established by Judge Rudolph Contreras requires that Coronel submit more detailed information.
This includes documentation about her properties, residence, vehicle, documents, computers, mobile phones, electronic communications and more.

Any law enforcement officer can request this information, without having to produce a warrant, if they have even the slightest reasonable suspicion she’s violating the conditions of her release.
The decision reflects the heightened scrutiny on the wife of one of the world’s most notorious drug traffickers,
It is worth mentioning that Judge Contreras is also requiring Coronel to provide her probation officer with a series of crucial documents.
First, she must submit a signed authorization that allows them to review her credit history as well as her federal and state income tax returns.

In addition, she must provide an accurate financial statement, supported by documentation that substantiates all of her assets, income, expenses and liabilities.
These new measures reflect an attempt by the DC District Court to maintain tighter control over Emma Coronel.
Likewise, it has been announced that El Chapo’s wife, despite her recent release, continues to be the subject of legal scrutiny.
Her connection to El Chapo, who is serving a life sentence in a maximum security prison, appears to have prompted the need for closer oversight.
Emma Coronel spent over 2 years in prison

It should be remembered that Emma Coronel spent two years and four months, in a Texas prison, followed by a couple of months in a halfway house,
She was convicted of conspiring to distribute drugs, money laundering and participating in property transactions belonging to a drug trafficker.
Although she was released, Coronel, who is Mexican-American, was placed under supervised release for four years.
During this time she must report her place of residence and allow surprise visits from her probation officer, among other measures, to ensure that she does not offend again.
What did El Chapo’s wife say?

A few weeks ago, after leaving prison, Emma Coronel declared that she was improving herself.
«I see myself improving as a person, growing in all aspects, happy, fulfilled, fulfilling dreams, calm and working,» said the former beauty queen.
“I am grateful that I have life, that I have a beautiful family that loves me and supports me a lot,” she continued.
«I have the most beautiful daughters in the world, I have life, I have health. I relax at home watching movies, talking to my daughters,» she concluded.
Coronel is active on social media

On September 15, Coronel attended an event at the Farallón Event Center, in Los Angeles, California.
