Sierra-Leyva’s Arrest Raises Controversy Over California’s «Sanctuary State» Laws
Sierra-Leyva was arrested for violating his probation, according to Dominic Choi, Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed his nationality and plans to request his detention from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
However, authorities anticipate that this request will not be accepted due to the «sanctuary state» laws in effect in California.
