Wednesday, September 4, 2024, will be a date difficult to forget for a long time.

On that day, a 14-year-old boy killed four people and injured nine others in a shooting at a high school in Georgia.

Understandably, the reactions of outrage and helplessness came swiftly.

One of those reactions was from journalist Satcha Pretto, who became visibly emotional as she interviewed one of the mothers affected by the tragedy.

A tragedy like the one at Apalachee High School affects everyone.

However, for a mother like Satcha, it’s impossible not to think that one of her own children could have been in that situation.

«Twenty-five years of school shootings, and many of us parents watch from a distance,» Satcha Pretto told the grieving mother.

She then asked through tears: «What do you say to us today? We’ve had the blessing of not being directly affected by these shootings.»

The grieving mother responded, saying that when you see these kinds of events in the news, you never expect it to happen in your own community.

«But when you’re in that moment, the world falls apart around you,» she replied to Satcha Pretto.

She then called on the community of Barrow County and the entire country to take action:

«Enough is enough; we need to do something. We need to stop this, put in a metal detector, because this cannot continue…»

Finally, she expressed that these kinds of situations have been happening for far too long (SEE THE VIDEO HERE).
