Jorge Durán is from Honduras. The reason he came to the United States was like many others, in search of a better life for his family.

He arrived in New York City, where he accepted any job. One of them was cleaning. He was paid five dollars an hour.

In his words, he knows it was very little, but he needed it. He never said no. Little by little, he saved up until he had three hundred dollars and knew what he wanted to acquire.

He decided to move to New Orleans. There, he got a used car. In this place, he sought refuge in the hospitality area, working as a driver.

Getting to Work

Later, a door opened in the construction area. He worked on the exterior of houses, but he wanted to grow.

He spoke with the business owner and proposed that he be allowed to participate in the construction of a house, and the owner thought it was a good idea to do this.

Excited, he didn’t waste a second in getting to work. This was his first success, but he confesses that he did make mistakes, yet that did not stop him.

He managed to sell a house for an amount greater than it was estimated.

Vision

With the money from that project, he bought land and set to work to create complexes.

At that time, working in construction, assembling these complexes, he realized that this was what he wanted to do forever.

The first job was seven units, the next was nine, and he came to the conclusion of his great goal.

He wanted to build something big, something beyond his own imagination and ambition.

The Best Work

The largest project now in his sight is a multifunctional city of about three hundred and ten acres.

The happiness is immeasurable on his face knowing the magnitude of this work.

This complex includes schools, hotels, hospitals, and residential areas. Exactly what he always thought he would build.
