Jennifer Lee Wilson: Death of Adopted Child

A case that seems straight out of a Hollywood movie but unfortunately had a tragic ending.

A nearly 340-pound woman sat on her 10-year-old adopted son and killed him.

Jennifer Lee Wilson, 48, from Indiana, is accused of reckless homicide.

Two days after the incident, little Dakota Levi Stevens lost his life. His mother sat on him for several minutes.

The Child Tried to Escape

According to the portal Noticias, authorities reported that the child tried to escape to a neighbor’s house.

Jennifer Lee Wilson sat on him under the pretext of «controlling his behavior.»

Despite his cries, this woman ignored her own son and was trying to contact a social worker.

At one point, Dakota stopped moving and breathing, but Jennifer thought he was faking it.

Upon realizing what had just happened, Lee Wilson called the police, but it was too late.

When the officers arrived, Dakota had no pulse and was not breathing.

The child was airlifted to a hospital, where he was declared dead two days after the incident.

According to the forensic report, the cause of death was mechanical asphyxia. Jennifer sat on her son for about five minutes.

According to Noticias, Dakota had gone to a neighbor’s house to ask them to adopt him.

He claimed that his mother, Jennifer Lee Wilson, and his father, whose identity was not revealed, would hit him in the face.

This neighbor said they did not notice any injuries on the child.

If found guilty of reckless homicide, Jennifer could spend up to six years in prison.
