Jeffrey Goedde, 41, was arrested in Missouri for the first-degree murder of his father, Edward Goedde Jr., 75.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police, admitting to committing a crime and expressing his desire to turn himself in.
«I made a mistake. I committed a crime, and I want to turn myself in,» Goedde stated at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The crime took place in the home shared by father and son, where police discovered the victim’s body in the kitchen.
Forensic Findings Reveal the Brutality of Jeffrey Goedde’s Crime
Edward’s body showed approximately 50 stab wounds, broken bones, signs of strangulation, and trauma to the head, face, and back.
A kitchen knife was found in a trash bin near the victim’s lifeless body.
Upon entering the residence, officers detected a strong smell of bleach in the air.
Jeffrey Goedde admitted he may have used a knife and other weapons but claimed he could not clearly recall the events.
After being informed of the body’s discovery, Jeffrey Goedde reiterated that he could not leave because he had accidentally killed someone.
He later requested a lawyer and refused to answer further questions from authorities.

A review of Goedde’s bail is scheduled for this Friday.
His preliminary hearing is set for January 16, according to Law&Crime.
