Jacqie has said that it was a very difficult time in her life, when she was just 23 years old.

Jacqie said that the news came when she was returning from a cousin’s wedding in Las Vegas.

She admitted not remembering who called her — her aunt Rosie or her uncle Juan — but they did ask her about her siblings.

She told not to go on social media and was urged to make sure Jenicka and Johnny didn’t either.

They told her that instead of going online, they should go directly to her grandmother’s house, where she was given the terrible news.

The news that Jenni Rivera’s plane was missing

Jacqie added that on the drive to her grandmother’s house, she had an awful feeling.

Upon arriving and seeing her family, she learned that her mother’s plane was missing.

She said that she found out the plane was missing on Sunday, however the family received the truly devastating new on Wednesday.

She also said that Chiquis, being the oldest sibling, was the one that everyone went to in search of answers about her mother.

Chiquis was strong for her family

«Life changed forever,» she said of the moment her family received confirmation of Jenni Rivera’s death.

She added that once her mother passed away, Chiquis became the pillar of the family and was the one who took care of her brothers.

She also added that is was very difficult for her family to have to deal with their grief in public

Jacqie said she had no regrets about her mother’s funeral as it was something she would have wanted, but it was difficult for her to share the moment.

Jenni Rivera’s legacy

Throughout the interview, Jacqie opened up about her mother and how it felt to lose her.

Although Jenni Rivera died more than ten years ago, her daughter said: «I feel like she’s still here.»

In addition to missing her, she said she is «more than happy that this woman was my mother.»
