Israel’s war with Hamas has persisted for six months, emerging as one of the most destructive, deadly, and intractable conflicts of the 21st century.
It all began with Hamas’ cross-border attack on October 7th, prompting Israel to strike Gaza Strip.
Over these six months, the vast majority of the population has been displaced, forcing many to flee to Gaza’s southernmost city, Rafah. However, Israel has made a drastic decision.

Israel withdraws its troops
Food is scarce, the UN says famine is approaching and few Palestinians have been able to leave the besieged territory.
A military source confirmed that the Israeli Army has withdrawn all its ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip, leaving only one brigade in the enclave.
It is worth mentioning that this Israeli withdrawal occurs after four months of intense fighting in the Khan Younis area.
Likewise, it marks the sixth month since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, with a tragic death toll of more than 33,100 people, including terrorists and civilians.
They make a decision after an attack
Currently, it has been announced that after the withdrawal of Israeli troops, a single Israeli brigade remains in the Palestinian enclave, according to Infobae.
Being in charge of ensuring a vital corridor between southern Israel and the Gaza coast, blocking access to the north of the Strip and facilitating operations in the center and north of the territory.
The news comes after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recovered the lifeless body of Israeli hostage Elad Katzir in Khan Younis last Saturday, who was held captive under the Islamic Jihad.
Doctors from the Institute of Forensic Medicine identified the body during the night and the authorities informed the family of Katzir, kidnapped with his mother during the October 7 attacks on the Nir Oz kibbutz.
End of the war in the Gaza Strip?
The two main hospitals in the southern city, Al Amal and Nasser, were razed and inoperative after the siege by Israeli troops. Those who argued the presence of terrorists in these complexes.

6 months of the war between Israel and Hamas
The next objective in Gaza appears to be the already announced military incursion into Rafah, in the south of the enclave, where 1.4 million displaced people live and still remain.
According to the Army, four Hamas battalions, an incursion that the United States, Israel’s main military ally, opposes, according to The Associated Press.
In the army’s attempt to destroy Hamas after its attacks on October 7. The military appears to have given itself ample leeway in determining what a target is and how many civilian deaths it allows as “collateral damage.”
More than 33,000 Palestinians have died in Israel’s offensive. About two-thirds of them women and children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. Its count does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
