Amid escalating tensions, the Jewish state has strongly praised the effectiveness of its air defense systems in the face of an unprecedented attack by Iran.

On Sunday, Israel announced that its systems thwarted 99% of the more than 300 drones and missiles launched into its territory, according to The Associated Press.

It’s an achievement that stood out amid concerns about a possible escalation in the region in the middle of the day and that could cause further damage.

Authorities have reported that so far there have been no casualties from the attack.

The strike, which included 170 drones, more than 30 cruise missiles and more than 120 ballistic missiles, was in response to a previous incident in Syria.

An Iranian consular building was hit by an attack that was widely attributed to Israel, resulting in the deaths of two Iranian generals.

This escalation marked the first time Iran launched a direct military attack against Israel, triggering a significant rise in decades-old tensions.

U.S. President Joe Biden responded by calling a meeting of the Group of Seven leaders of advanced democracies to coordinate a diplomatic response to Iran’s attack.

The United States made clear that it would not engage in any offensive action against Iran, underscoring its commitment to avoiding an escalation into armed conflict.

White House national security spokesman John Kirby released a statement.

«We don’t want to see a war with Iran. We don’t want to see a broader regional conflict.»

These words reflect the U.S.government’s efforts to calm tensions and seek a diplomatic solution to the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, Israel has reaffirmed its determination to protect its citizens and has promised to build a regional coalition to confront Iran.

Benny Gantz, a key member of Israel’s War Cabinet, broke his silence on the matter by condemning the attack by Iran and issued a strong warning.

[W]e will build a regional coalition and exact the price from Iran, in the way and at the time that suits us.» This underlines Israel’s firm stance in the face of external aggression.

The effectiveness of Israel’s air defenses has been widely praised both domestically and internationally.

As the situation continues to evolve, the international community is watching closely, aware of the serious implications of any further escalation.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador took a neutral position regarding the incident and condemned the violence.

«Hopefully the conflict in the Middle East does not escalate. War is irrational, synonymous with suffering and death. It benefits no one, not even the magnates and war-mongering rulers,» he stated.

«Let us support peace and universal brotherhood. The maxim that politics, among other things, was invented to avoid war should not go into disuse,» he concluded.
