Those returning from combat zones also have extended deadlines, which vary by region.

Specific IRS Extensions

Taxpayers in Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and West Virginia: deadline until November 1, 2024.
Taxpayers in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, New York, Texas, and other regions: deadline until February 3, 2025.
Taxpayers affected by Hurricane Helene: deadline until May 1, 2025.
Taxpayers affected by the attacks in Israel: deadline until September 30, 2025.
