In 2022, the theme of the Day of the Girl has been designated as “The digital generation. Our generation». This is because it is a way to draw attention to the technological disadvantages that affect girls in underdeveloped countries who do not have access to the internet, which limits their access to education and information that can empower them.

Another of the objectives of International Day of the Girl is to advocate for fairness and equality, avoiding comparisons with the talents and abilities of boys to create an environment in which girls’ voices are heard and respected. This will allow those in power to better understand their problems and create the necessary policies to positively impact their future.
