Former ICE Director and Donald Trump’s self-proclaimed “border czar,” Tom Homan, confirmed the arrest of at least 370 individuals in Boston and surrounding areas.
The federal operation took place from March 18 to March 23, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Homan stated that the action is part of a promise he previously made to “bring hell” to the city.
He also warned, “there’s much more to come,” suggesting that these raids will continue.
ICE Raids Ramp Up Crackdown on Sanctuary Cities
The so-called “intensified operation” is part of the Trump administration’s broader offensive against “sanctuary cities.”
Cities like Boston have enacted policies that limit cooperation between local authorities and federal immigration agents.
The rise in arrests and the public promotion of the operation reinforce the administration’s hardline stance on immigration.
Pro-immigrant activists and local officials have condemned the raids, accusing the government of spreading fear among immigrant communities.
