Hunter Biden, son of the U.S. President, is facing charges in a tax evasion case and now reportedly plans to plead guilty.
According to reports from EFE, Hunter Biden, who has previously maintained his innocence, is now willing to take a different approach.
Before a California court, Hunter Biden’s lawyer indicated that they would submit a plea accepting guilt as part of a legal strategy.
The move is aimed at avoiding a trial, said Abbe Lowell, legal representative of the president’s son.
Hunter Biden to Plead Guilty to Tax Evasion
Apparently, the decision was made before the jury selection process could begin, leading to a court recess.
This marks the second case against President Joe Biden’s son, and jury selection had been scheduled for the trial.
Now, with this legal tactic, Hunter Biden’s process will likely take at least a month to conclude.
The charges against him involve failing to pay federal taxes on $1.4 million between 2016 and 2019.

According to media reports, Hunter Biden allegedly spent millions on extravagant purchases but failed to pay taxes.
He initially pleaded not guilty in a January hearing, claiming that he paid all his debts in 2019 after overcoming his addiction issues.
Now, Hunter Biden plans to plead guilty as a strategy in response to the nine charges he faces.
According to official documents, these charges include failure to file and pay taxes, as well as filing false or fraudulent tax returns.
