- Human remains found in CDMX after operation at a camp.
- As reported by Infobae.
- Details below.
Authorities in Mexico City discovered human remains buried in a median along Avenida Cien Metros, in the Gustavo A. Madero borough.
The remains were found at the same location where, until just a few weeks ago, a migrant camp had been set up.
The discovery took place this Friday after a migrant reported the disappearance of a family member, stating that this was the last place they were seen alive.
Agents from the Investigative Police and the Specialized Group for Immediate Search Assistance, along with forensic experts from the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office, arrived at the site. With the help of K-9 units, they located human remains buried underground.

The area was cordoned off while forensic work was conducted under a tent installed on Eje Central, near the Lindavista neighborhood.
So far, city authorities have not released an official statement regarding the identity of the remains or the possible cause of death.
This new discovery reignites controversy surrounding the migrant camp that was dismantled by authorities on March 12.
During that operation, the Mexico City government, in coordination with multiple agencies, acted following reports of violence, extortion, and unsanitary conditions in the area.
The Ministry of Government provides explanations

The Ministry of Government (SECGOB) explained at the time that the goal of the operation was to offer protection and dignified conditions to people in situations of human mobility.
The individuals in the CDMX migrant camp were transferred to shelters set up in the capital, where they were given access to services and options for integration or voluntary return.
This is not the first time the area has been the scene of violent events.
In December 2024, the burned body of an unidentified man was found among a pile of clothes, wood, and trash that had been set on fire.
Investigations continue
For that crime, two Colombian nationals were arrested after surveillance cameras recorded them carrying a suspicious bundle.
One of the lines of investigation being pursued by authorities suggests that the camp had been infiltrated by criminal networks exercising territorial control, particularly over undocumented migrants, through drug sales and forced prostitution.
The discovery of these human remains has once again raised concerns about the vulnerability of migrants and the urgent need to strengthen security, oversight, and care in the spaces they inhabit.
Meanwhile, the victims’ families await answers and justice, as the city works to clarify the facts amid a complex migratory landscape.
