How to get rid of deodorant stains and make your shirts look like new!
Cold water
If one of your garments has deodorant stains, always use cold water to wash it by hand. Preferably, gently scrub the blemished area with a stream of cold water. It is important that you never use hot water to get rid of stains, because although it may seem like an effective solution, this could cause the fabric to wear or discolor.
Wet wipes to remove those stains on clothes
Wet wipes, whether for baby hygiene or make-up removal, are especially useful for cleaning the underarm area of clothing. This isn’t only because of their chemical properties, but also because of the fine texture of the cloth. To achieve a greater effect, pass a damp cloth over the stained area before you put the garment in the washing machine. If you don’t have wet wipes, you can wipe the stain with a stocking or sock.
Salt water
Did you know that salt water is a powerful stain remover? Time to put it to the test! For this, you will need to mix 250 ml of hot water with four tablespoons of salt. Using a sponge or cloth, apply the mixture to the area where the stain is, then throw the garment in the washing machine for more noticeable results.
Vinegar
One way to get rid of deodorant stains on clothes forever is to soak the stained area in a white vinegar mixture for at least an hour. After this, use a toothbrush or cloth to rub the stain. As a last step, it is recommended to wash normally.
Hydrogen peroxide
Check out the power of hydrogen peroxide! Prepare a mixture of hydrogen peroxide with soap to gently rub the stained area and then start the normal wash cycle. This method is not suitable for colored shirts, since the hydrogen peroxide can discolor fabric. If you wish, you can dilute the hydrogen peroxide with water.
Aspirin
Who knew that an aspirin could help with laundry? But it is like this! Completely remove deodorant stains using a mixture made with a couple of aspirin tablets and a few tablespoons of water. To achieve the desired effect, apply the mixture (which should be porous and thick) directly on the stain and let it sit overnight. Finally, wash your clothes following the usual process.
Baking soda
Bicarbonate has proven to be an extremely versatile product, and that is why it also serves as an aid in cleaning clothes; however, it should only be used on white garments. The secret is to apply the baking soda mixture to the inside of the clothes and let it sit for at least an hour, before proceeding with the regular washing and drying process.
