Before you dive into scrubbing, ensure that you have all the necessary cleaning supplies on hand.

A multi-surface bathroom cleaner, white vinegar, baking soda and a scrubbing brush are your essential tools for a gleaming bathroom.

Keep some microfiber cloths and a squeegee nearby as well.

Armed with the right products, you’re ready to learn how to clean a bathroom like an expert.

Prepping your shower and bathtub

Start by removing all your shampoos, conditioners and shower gels from the area you’re about to clean.

Next, give your shower and tub a quick rinse with warm water to loosen up any surface dirt.

Apply a generous layer of multi-surface bathroom cleaner over the tiles, glass, and bathtub.

Let the cleaner sit for a few minutes to penetrate grime and soap scum.

Grab your scrubbing brush and get to work on those tiles.

Pay close attention to the grout lines, where mold and mildew love to hide.

For extra-stubborn stains, make a paste out of baking soda and a small amount of water, then apply it to the grout.

A toothbrush can serve as a precise tool for scrubbing those hard-to-reach areas.

Cleaning glass doors and shower curtains

If your shower comes with a glass door, a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water can help you remove water spots and build-up.

Simply spray the mixture onto the glass, allow it to sit for a few minutes, and then wipe it down with a microfiber cloth.

For shower curtains, consider running them through a gentle wash cycle in your washing machine.

Remember to check the washing instructions on the curtain label before you throw it in.

Now it’s time to focus on your bathtub.

Apply a layer of bathroom cleaner to the basin and let it sit for a while.

Use your scrubbing brush to tackle the basin, paying close attention to the corners and any built-up grime near the drain.

After scrubbing, rinse the tub thoroughly with warm water.

Handling shower heads and faucets

Mineral deposits can make your showerhead and faucets look dull and affect their performance.

Fill a plastic bag with white vinegar and tie it around the shower head or faucet, ensuring the affected parts are submerged.

Let it sit overnight and then rinse it off in the morning.

Scrub lightly with a toothbrush to remove any remaining deposits.

Final touches: The rinse and shine

With all the hard work done, the final step is giving your shower and bathtub a good rinse.

Use plenty of warm water to wash away any remaining cleaner or vinegar.

A squeegee comes in handy to remove excess water from tiles and glass, preventing future water spots.

Lastly, return all your bathroom products to their rightful places, and maybe even light a scented candle to celebrate your sparkling clean bathroom.

Consistency is key to keeping your shower and bathtub in top shape.

Make it a habit to quickly rinse off surfaces after each use.

Additionally, invest in a good-quality squeegee and use it regularly to prevent water spots and soap scum buildup.

Not only will this make your weekly cleaning session much easier, but it will also prolong the time between deep cleans.
