She continued, «That’s it — I’m attracted to the person.»

Unlike many people, Cara did not feel the need to come out because she says that she is who she is. «This is who I am. Just so you know.»

She ended a relationship just before COVID hit

In February 2020, just days before the COVID-19 pandemic erupted, Cara Delevingne ended her relationship with actress Ashley Benson.

Various entertainment outlets, including People, reported that the relationship came to an end two months later in April.

It was also reported that the British model did not waste any time and enjoyed the forced isolation with several friends.

She also confessed that she was one of the many women who was harassed by producer Harvey Weinstein.

Cara Delevingne said she felt ‘internalized homophobia’

One year later, in March 2021, Cara Delevingne was invited to actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop podcast.

In this conversation, the British model revealed that as a teen she contemplated suicide on several occasions.

As a result, she experienced ‘internalized homophobia,’ which caused her great suffering when she realized that she was attracted to people of the same sex.

«I grew up in a very old-fashioned household. I didn’t know anyone who was gay,» she shared with Gwyneth Paltrow.

Cara Delevingne struggled with her sexual orientation

In the same interview, Cara Delevingne said that at that time she wasn’t even aware of her own internalized homophobia, but that was not all.

«The idea of having same-sex partners felt disgusting to me. And that disgust ended up living within me,» Delevingne said.

According to People, she told herself she could never be with another woman.

«I know that there is clearly a correlation between all of that and my bouts of depression… I was ashamed of who I was,» she concluded.
