Hitman ‘Karol G’ arrested for alleged operations with the Gulf Clan

Everson Pérez Gómez, known to authorities as ‘Karol G’, aged 38, was apprehended by the National Police in the municipality of Barranco de Loba, located in the southern region of  Colombia.

The arrest took place during routine patrols in the Pueblito Mejía district, where authorities intercepted the individual while he was traveling on a motorcycle.

During the operation, a Pietro Beretta pistol, two magazines, 13 9mm caliber cartridges, two handheld communication radios, three radio chargers, and a cellphone were confiscated.

‘Karol G’ arrested in Colombia

According to police reports, Pérez Gómez, a native of Palmitos, Sucre, has an extensive criminal record that includes eleven notes for homicide.

Three for conspiracy to commit a crime, two for theft, one for drug trafficking, one for illegal possession of firearms and one for domestic violence.

The authorities identify him as the leader of the Edwin José Sierra front, belonging to the Clan del Golfo.

Criminal gang active in the south of Bolívar, dedicated to illicit activities such as illegal gold mining, extortion and drug trafficking, said the portal of ‘El Tiempo‘.

The alias ‘Karol G’ has been operating in several municipalities of southern Bolívar and its districts over the past seven years.

Judicial authorities point to Everson Pérez Gómez as a criminal leader in the department of Sucre and the municipality of Arjona (Bolívar), where he faces an arrest warrant for aggravated conspiracy to commit crime.

«These alleged criminals will not disturb the peace or citizen security,» stated Colonel Alejandro Reyes Ramírez, commander of the Bolívar Police Department.

Everson Pérez Gómez was handed over to the Attorney General’s Office for the relevant legal procedures. It is expected that a judge will determine his judicial status in the coming hours.
