A man has been charged with the premeditated murder of his ex-partner, a Hispanic mother, in Pompano Beach, Florida.
The tragic incident occurred outside the victim’s home, in full view of her three children.
Brenda Noemí Hernández, 29, was a mother of three, with children aged 12, 10, and 2 years old.
Her 10-year-old daughter, Brithany, gave a heart-wrenching testimony about her mother’s death to Univision Miami.
Brithany Recounts the Painful Moment Her Mother Was Run Over by Her Ex-Partner
Brithany shared how her mother was run over by her ex-partner, who is also the father of her younger sibling.
«My mom is gone, no one will replace her,» Brithany said in grief.
“He attacked my mom, he wanted to kill us all. He got into the truck and sped up,” the young girl said.
Police identified the attacker as 32-year-old Edwin Amaya.
Edwin Amaya deliberately struck Brenda with a Ford F-250 truck.
The attack was captured on video by a neighbor, according to the victim’s family.
The family was heading to dinner when Amaya showed up and started an argument.
Brenda’s mother, Marleny Amaya Vásquez, recounted how the attacker threatened to kill everyone.

“He was after his son, and since he was drunk and high, my daughter refused to give him the child.”
“He got even angrier and tried to hit her boyfriend, saying he was going to kill them all. There were five of them,” said Marleny Amaya Vásquez, Brenda’s mother.
Omar Munguía, Brenda’s ex-partner, also described the violent incident.
“He ran her over and then backed up,” Munguía recounted.
The family claims this wasn’t the first time Edwin Amaya acted violently.
Brenda had filed for a restraining order against Amaya, but it failed to protect her.

According to her mother, Amaya used different phone numbers to harass Brenda.
Edwin Amaya now faces premeditated murder charges and is being held without bail.
