MORE THAN 50 AGENTS

Within seconds, four ambulances, two fire trucks, and over 50 security agents surrounded the building. They verified that the situation was under control and entered the premises.
Near the bar, lying on the floor, they found a customer with a gunshot wound to the head, whom they later identified as Omar Reyes García, 32 years old.
The victim was transported to Barton Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
According to authorities, the resort management provided security camera footage and an accurate description of the suspects, a Hispanic woman and man.
THIS IS HOW THEY STOPPED HIM

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office found and stopped the suspicious vehicle on Highway 50, near Sierra at Tahoe. Inside were Édgar Julián Delgado, 24 years old, and Savannah Racquel Tautaupale, 26. Both were contacted and detained.
«It was an isolated incident that was initially reported as an active shooter incident, prompting a massive response,» said Sheriff Dan Coverley at a press conference.
The sheriff explained that security cameras showed the victim and his assailant conversing amicably, showing and comparing tattoos before Delgado drew the firearm and fatally wounded him.
HE WAS CHARGED WITH MURDER

Since that same day, Delgado was charged with open murder for García’s death, while his companion, Tautaupale, was arrested for DUI by the California Highway Patrol.
Both suspects were incarcerated in South Lake Tahoe, California.
On April 19th, the primary suspect in Omar’s death returned to court.
During the reading of the charges, he admitted his responsibility for first-degree murder with enhancement for the use of a firearm.
REACHED AN AGREEMENT

The defendant apparently reached an agreement with the court to be sentenced to between 20 and 50 years in prison, and between 2 and 5 years for the enhancement of the deadly weapon, if he accepted his responsibility in Omar’s death.
According to court documents, the trial was scheduled for July 16, with a duration of 10 days.
While the legal process continues, Omar’s family continues to remember him.
«An incredible human being… a vibrant soul, a family man, a man capable of saying in the toughest moments: ‘Let’s go, damn it, gooooooo!’,» wrote his friend Hugo Casillas on a fundraising account.
