Jesús Fernández remains in prison after Florida authorities identified him as the suspect of Christmas gift theft.

This occurred in the parking lot of Home Depot, located at 2999 SW 32nd Ave. in Miami.

During the review of his criminal record, agents discovered that the 53-year-old Cuban was being investigated by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Interpol.

The investigation against the Hispanic man who was imprisoned for stealing Christmas gifts began on November 23, 2023.

It shows a burly man dressed in a t-shirt, brown shorts, and matching Crocs.

Removing bags from the trunk and cleaning the space with a multicolored cloth before fleeing.

Despite the scandal it caused on social media, authorities took nearly seven months to locate the suspect.

Finally, agents found the suspect, Jesús Fernández, in Miami Beach last Thursday, June 20.

They arrested Jesús Fernández on charges of theft and grand larceny, said the police. About 24 hours later, Fernández appeared in court, where the prosecutor mentioned his federal investigation.

Additionally, he was held responsible for a series of thefts in Doral and other neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County.

After hearing the accusations against the Cuban, the judge set his bail at $17,150.

And sent him to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center while he pays the fine, according to prison records.
