Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 17, 1949, Jorge Pérez is the president and CEO of Related Group.

In 2018, Pérez was ranked 316th on Forbes’ 400 list with a net worth of $2.6 billion.

Before venturing into real estate, he served as the Director of Economic Development for the city of Miami, Florida.

According to CNN, Jorge is considered one of the most influential Hispanic entrepreneurs in the United States.

A Passion for the ‘King of Sports’

Arturo Moreno, also known as ‘Arte’ Moreno, is best known as the owner of the Los Angeles Angels baseball team in MLB.

Though born in Tucson, Arizona, he has Mexican roots. He is the first Mexican-American to own a sports team in the United States.

As of last year, he held the 662nd position on Forbes’ billionaires list, with his fortune valued at $4.1 billion at that time.

Although he retains stakes in other billboard advertising companies, the bulk of his wealth comes from the baseball team.

Among the four Hispanic entrepreneurs succeeding in the USA, let’s turn to María Contreras-Sweet, originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

In 2014, President Barack Obama appointed her as the head of the United States Small Business Administration (SBA).

According to CNN, María founded ProAmerica Bank, the first bank dedicated to serving the needs of both small and medium-sized businesses.

She has recently served on the board of directors for Sempra Energy, Regional Management Corp, and Trinet Group Inc.
