  • US weather alert.
  • High temperatures forecast in the coming days.
  • What states will be affected?

The weather forecasts for this week in the United States are not at all favorable for residents as many will be experiencing extremely high temperatures in some parts of the country. Warnings have already been issued and severe weather is expected over the next few days.

A heat wave is about to hit parts of the United States, with forecasters already foreseeing triple-digit temperatures. The chances of storms have disappeared and some states are expected to suffer from the heat wave. Where will it hit?

According to AccuWeather, the heat wave will build over the southwestern part of the country, where monsoon moisture has been concentrated in the southern states. Farther west they have received little rain in recent months. These will be some of the most extreme temperatures this year.

William Gallus, professor of atmospheric sciences at Iowa State University, explains what it can be like: “The heat dome can spread over several states and stay for days or weeks, leaving people, crops and animals below suffer through hot, stagnant air that can feel like an oven.”

It is worth mentioning that, according to Gallus, as the heat dome moves to the western United States next week, the temperature will rise considerably to 100 degrees. And that’s not all….

‎”A resilient heat dome that has brought warm weather to the Southern Plains this week will spread to the Southwest and remain stationed there, likely for the best part of next week,” said ‎‎AccuWeather‎‎ meteorologist La Troy Thornton. Filed Under: Heat Dome United States

Las Vegas is one of the cities that will be affected by the heat dome, according to the National Weather Servic. The last time it saw measurable rain was on March 28. That day 0.1 of an inch of rain fell in the city, but since then it has been dry.

«Monsoon moisture will move west and generate spotty thunderstorms in the mountains of Nevada and California by midweek,» AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Mike LeSeney said. He warned of extreme weather for the next few days. Filed Under: Heat Dome United States

Similarly, Phoenix will also be affected by high temperatures, since last month it received 0.31 of an inch of rain in late June thanks to monsoon storms. However, no appreciable rain has fallen since then, and the ground is quite dry.

For its part, Salt Lake City has had six days above 100 degrees so far this year, but these temperatures can increase considerably. This weekend, it topped 100 degrees for the third time this month. Filed Under: Heat Dome United States
