The report stated that a baby was unresponsive at a home in Waleska. Upon arrival, officers found one-year-old James «Jamie» Marco Palacio severely injured.

Investigators determined that the infant had suffered multiple injuries, including fractures in his ribs, neck, and spine.

Additionally, subdural and retinal hemorrhages were found. Pediatricians concluded that the injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

What was most shocking was that Davis was the only person at the house at the time of the incident. The child’s mother, Amber Ellis, was at work when the tragedy occurred.

After reviewing the evidence and testimonies, it was determined that the injuries sustained by the baby were caused by direct physical assault, which led to Davis’s conviction.

Authorities also stated that the child’s mother, Amber Ellis, was charged with second-degree murder and child cruelty in connection with his death.

Days after the incident, the baby was declared brain dead. Despite medical efforts to save his life, the injuries were too severe.

The case has shaken the local community, especially due to the severity of the charges and the involvement of the child’s close relatives.

Gregory Farrell Davis Jr.’s sentencing has not yet been scheduled and will take place at a later date.

The tragedy underscores the importance of child protection and the dangers of abuse within the home.

Authorities continue to investigate in order to uncover all the details of the case and ensure justice is served for the victim.
