Food safety is once again in the spotlight following the discovery of undeclared allergens in Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews sold at Walmart.

This finding has prompted a voluntary recall by the manufacturer, John B. Sanfilippo & Son Incorporated, which has taken immediate steps to ensure the health and well-being of consumers.

The company announced a «limited quantity» of Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews are being recalled due to the potential presence of «undeclared coconut and milk.»

This recall comes after a consumer alert about the presence of coconut cashews in a container labeled as honey roasted cashews.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, a consumer reported finding coconut cashews in a container labeled as honey roasted cashews.

A subsequent investigation confirmed that a «limited number» of incorrect labels were applied to containers of coconut cashews during the manufacturing process.

This led to concerns about the accuracy of nutritional information and allergen warnings on the product.

Although it was not specified how many cans of 8.25 oz Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews were recalled from the market, it was reported that the product was available at Walmart stores.

As of now, no adverse reactions have been reported by consumers who purchased the product.

To see if a can of nuts is included in the recall, look for the following product label: «Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews.»

The product should have a «best by» date before July 8, 2025, and the label GH2 on the bottom of the plastic can.

Additionally, the can should contain 8.25 ounces of honey roasted cashews and have a blue wraparound label with the universal product code 078742133348.

Which stores sold the product?

The FDA has warned that consumers with «severe coconut or milk allergy or sensitivity» are at risk of experiencing a severe or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if they ingest the affected product.

Therefore, the company urges consumers to refrain from consuming the nuts and advises them to either dispose of it or return it to a Walmart store for a full refund.
