A container ship collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, causing a tragic incident in the early hours of Tuesday.

The bridge collapse triggered a rescue operation to search for seven people trapped in vehicles submerged in the river.

According to official reports, Baltimore Fire Chief James Wallace confirmed that two people were rescued from the river, one of them in serious condition.

Unfortunately, six Hispanic workers who were on the bridge were declared dead by authorities.

Among the workers affected by the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key bridge, Alejandro, Carlos’s uncle, also succumbed.

One of the two bodies recovered so far belongs to Alejandro, intensifying the pain of losing two close family members.

Rescue efforts are ongoing in search of any possible survivors among the rubble, although hope dwindles with time.

During an interview with Univision, Jazmín Álvarez, Hernández’s girlfriend, shared her anguishing experience upon learning of the incident.

Residing in Mexico, Álvarez revealed how she discovered the situation. «I have GPS tracking on his cell phone, so I looked and it showed he was by the water.»

«But I thought since he was on the bridge, that’s why it showed he was near the water. He didn’t respond,» Álvarez expressed.

She reflected on the confusion and concern she felt at that moment. The uncertainty about Hernández’s whereabouts heightened her anxiety as she awaited news about her beloved.

«Yes, love. Well, we’ve already started pouring the cement, and now we’ll just be waiting for it to dry,» Hernández told Álvarez in the voice note.

In previous messages, Carlos expressed to Jazmín to take care of herself, not to worry about him, and to wait for him.

He also reminded her of their love and the promise that they would soon be together. However, tragedy struck Carlos’s family hard, leaving them devastated.

They demand justice for all the victims. The loss of Carlos has left an immense void; they struggle to find comfort amid the pain. LISTEN TO MESSAGE HERE.
