Geilond Vido Romero, the migrant who escaped from the ICE detention center in Aurora on March 18, was captured this Monday in Denver.
The arrest was made possible through a joint effort between the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The escape took place during an internal transfer within the Aurora detention facility, located in the city’s eastern sector.
According to authorities, Geilond Vido Romero was located Monday afternoon at an undisclosed location in Denver.
No additional details have been released regarding the circumstances of his arrest.
He will be turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service to face criminal charges for escaping custody.
Geilond Vido Romero and his fellow escapee—who was apprehended days earlier in Highlands Ranch—sparked concern among local residents and human rights advocates.
The incident also raised serious questions about the security protocols at the privately run GEO Group facility.
A previous report by El Comercio de Colorado revealed that the two migrants exploited a security lapse during an internal transfer.
