Óscar Daniel Vega Espinoza is wanted under an arrest warrant in Houston, Texas, for the stabbing murder of his ex-girlfriend in a brutal crime.

The police in the so-called ‘Special City’ have released the face of Óscar Daniel Vega Espinoza, 34 years old, along with details in the domestic violence case.

At the time of writing this story, the only detail investigators have not disclosed is the name of the woman who was murdered.

Judge Colleen Gaido of the 337th Criminal District Court in Harris County is handling the case against Óscar Daniel Vega Espinoza.

Case documents detail that on Saturday, August 17, 2024, people reported finding a person along a path.

At 8:55 am, passersby called the Houston Police Department (HPD) to report the discovery.

HPD patrol officers responded to 8200 Hockley Street, in the populous Hispanic neighborhood of the East End, to address the unusual emergency.

The location where the injured person was reported is an entrance to the Brays Bayou Greenway Trail which runs parallel to a stream.

Upon arriving at the scene, HPD patrol officers found a woman, presumably Hispanic, already deceased from multiple injuries and lying on the ground.

Forensic experts and agents from the HPD’s Homicide Division took over the investigation of the brutal crime that shook the neighborhood.

In the early stages of the investigation, HPD agents were not yet aware of Óscar Daniel Vega Espinoza’s involvement in the crime.

The official cause of the woman’s death was determined to be a stabbing after sustaining multiple injuries with some type of knife or razor.

After identifying the victim, HPD agents began investigating her personal and family surroundings to learn more about her life.

Based on witness accounts and forensic evidence, the Homicide Division determined that Óscar Daniel Vega Espinoza was the alleged murderer of his ex-girlfriend.
