A criminal investigation into charges of sexual abuse may have triggered a math teacher to make a fatal decision.

The investigation against Charles C. Maglio, 54, began after he sent a bouquet of flowers to one of his students at her workplace.

The teenager’s manager found the gesture odd and called the florist to ask the name of the person who sent the arrangement.

The manager then informed the teen’s grandmother. The complaint was made in December and 10 months later, Charles Maglio was arrested.
