Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a new emergency declaration in preparation for Tropical Storm Milton, which is expected to impact Florida’s west coast next week.

Through Executive Order 24-214, the state of emergency covers 35 counties, including Miami-Dade, Broward, Hillsborough, and Monroe.

According to the governor’s statement, the order includes key provisions to protect the safety of residents and facilitate the management of the emergency.

This measure seeks to eliminate as much debris as possible before Milton’s arrival to avoid further complications.

The executive order underscores the importance of being prepared for potential impacts in the region, which is already recovering from recent damage from another hurricane.
