Flight bringing Mexicans home: A group of 143 Mexicans from Israel arrived in Mexico City on the night of Wednesday, October 11.

They traveled on one of the two military planes arranged by the government to remove nearly 1,000 people from the conflict zone.

The second aircraft was scheduled to arrive at midnight, bringing the total number of repatriated Mexicans to 287.

Alicia Bárcena, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, communicated this information through her official X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

This effort was carried out while other countries also activated different evacuation routes due to the escalation of the conflict.

The first group of rescued Mexicans landed at an airport north of the capital, managed by the Mexican Armed Forces.

This contingent was mainly made up of minors, the elderly, women and sick people, whose rescue was prioritized.

It also included members of the national rhythmic gymnastics team, who expressed their gratitude for the support.

The return of these Mexicans was an emotional event and they were received with applause and joy.

In a gesture of gratitude, one woman kissed the ground after she descended the plane’s steps, The Associated Press reported.

Tragically, the current situation in the Middle East is grim and worrying.

Colombia confirmed the tragic death of Ivonne Rubio, a citizen with dual Colombian and Israeli citizenship. Her boyfriend remains missing.

Rubio’s identity was verified through DNA analysis, the young woman’s father told the Colombian ambassador to Israel.

Argentina had reported the death of seven of its citizens on Monday and Peru confirmed two deaths on Tuesday.

Among the missing are at least 15 Argentines, two Mexicans, three Brazilians and a Chilean, The Associated Press noted.

Uncertainty and anguish loomed over families of the missing, who are awaiting encouraging news.

Mexico said around 1,000 citizens had asked the government to evacuate them from Israel following the attacks.

Argentina has begun the repatriation of more than 700 people, while Chile has begun evacuating 200 citizens from the war zone.

Chilean President Gabriel Boric assured that all the necessary flights will be made to evacuate the four hundred people who registered.

Colombia, for its part, has made two military planes available for the return of its citizens over the weekend.

In addition, 14 Bolivians managed to leave Israel on a Spanish military plane, and they are expected to arrive home in the next few hours.

The images of the arrival of the first Mexicans evacuated from Israel have circulated on the official Azteca Noticias account on TikTok
