- Chief Medical Advisor to the US President, Anthony Fauci, seems to want nothing to do with Donald Trump.
- Fauci stated that he would leave the White House if Trump won the 2024 election.
- So far, Trump has not announced his candidacy for the next presidential election.
The message was clear and resounding. Renowned immunologist, Dr. Anthony Fauci, laughed and said “No” when asked if he would stay in his position as Chief Medical Advisor in the White House if former President Donald Trump were to win the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
“If you look at the history of what the response was during the administration, I think, you know, at best, you can say it wasn’t optimal. And I think just, history will speak for itself about that,” Fauci told CNN on Sunday night, according to Fox News.
Fauci doesn’t want to work with Trump anymore
Fauci has been director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since the 1980s and became the medical face of the federal government’s fight against the coronavirus in early 2020, Fox News reported about his important role in the White House.
Former President Trump frequently clashed with Fauci during the first year of the pandemic over hydroxychloroquine, testing, reopening businesses, restricting travel from China and other health affairs that highlight the different approaches of the two men.
Will Trump seek the presidency again in 2024?
“People are tired of listening to Fauci and all these idiots, these people,” Trump said in an October 2020 campaign conference call, a month before the last presidential election. “Every time he’s on TV, there’s a bombshell, but there’s a bigger bombshell if you fire him,” he added at the time.
Trump has not committed to running in 2024, but has held rallies across the country and teased another bid to return to the White House, Fox News said. “They are going to find out the hard way starting November 8 and even more so starting November 2024,” Trump exclaimed at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February about the Democratic Party’s chances in the next two elections.
