- Temperature Rise in the North.
- Possible Thunderstorms This Weekend.
According to meteorologists from AccuWeather, extreme heat will continue to hit Texas over the next week.
Temperatures will continue to reach dangerous levels, especially in the north and west of the state, as well as much of Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
Despite slight relief in some areas, experts indicate that high atmospheric pressures will strengthen, maintaining the heat in the region.
The heat has exceeded expectations even for August, with temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above the historical average.
Extreme Heat to Strike Texas
Dallas, for example, has experienced temperatures of 100 °F or more since August 13th, well above its usual average of 95 °F.
Although a slight decrease was reported on Wednesday, with temperatures around 95 °F, the heat intensified again on Thursday and Friday.

Highs in Dallas and surrounding areas are expected to reach 100 °F again in the coming days, staying in that range until early next week.
Other parts of Texas, like the southern High Plains, will also see dangerously high temperatures.
Temperatures are forecast to range between 100 and 105 degrees, challenging daily heat records.
For residents of the north-central United States, who have enjoyed cooler conditions, things will also change drastically.
Meteorologists warn that temperatures will significantly increase in the coming days in those areas, breaking the recent trend of pleasant weather.
As the extreme heat moves north, thunderstorms will also become a threat to some parts of the region over the weekend.
This unpredictable weather could cause additional problems in terms of damage and power outages, experts warn, according to Accuweather.
A shift in the jet stream will allow the extreme heat dome to extend northward over much of the plains.
Similarly, towards a larger part of the Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes region during this weekend and the following week.
This shift will cause temperatures to exceed 90 °F and in some parts of the Midwest possibly approach 100 °F.
