The incident, which originated near Castaic Lake, has forced mandatory evacuations in the area.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the fire started at 10:53 a.m.
In just one hour, the fire has already consumed 500 acres, equivalent to 202 hectares, Cal Fire reported.
