Before the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel and his wife began serving their respective prison sentences they threw an over-the-top party. El Chapo and Emma Coronel had a celebration that captivated all of Mexico with its lavishness.

According to Infobae some people described the celebration as «beautiful» and «amazing.» Others expressed their disapproval over the extravagance. In September 2018, Emma Coronel Aispuro, El Chapo’s wife, celebrated their twin daughters’ birthday with a Barbie-themed party.

The entire room was covered in pink and decorated in the iconic Barbie designs to celebrate the twin daughters of El Chapo. The parents of María Joaquina and Emaly Guadalupe spared no expense.

At that time the little ones were celebrating their 7th birthday. Some images of the event show a pink structure with the girls’ names written in luminous letters along with the phrase «Happy Birthday». There was also a giant number seven.

The party cost more than 500,000 Mexican pesos

At that time the Sinaloa Cartel had already become one of the largest criminal organizations in the world and the birthdays of its founder’s daughters proved it. There were rides, hundreds of balloons, trees with pink flowers, a children’s mansion, and a throne in the extravagant celebration held in Mexico.

An Instagram account believed to belong to the drug trafficker’s wife shared a video of a tour of the party venue where you could see the entrance and one of the tables covered with cakes, ice cream and Barbie accessories. An organizer of the event consulted by Milenio confirmed that a party like this could exceed 500,000 Mexican pesos.

An image was shared from the same account, in which Coronel appeared in front of the Barbie mansion with the caption, «The birthday of my princesses.» In the photograph you could see even more details of the exclusive party.

Since then, the Instagram profile has been closed. However, it is possible to read comments on photos and videos that express admiration for the Sinaloa drug trafficker, for Emma Coronel and for the great power they obtained.

Hundreds of guests

According to Infobae, it is not known if El Chapo’s mother, María Consuelo Loera López, or his sons Archivaldo and Alfredo Guzmán were present at the party. They were in the city at the same time the celebration took place.

The other guests are unknown, since the majority are children, their identity and safety are protected. However, ironically they were at the party of the twins of the most dangerous capo in Mexico.
