Joaquín «El Chapo» Guzmán’s wife is looking to rebuild her life and, although she does not enjoy complete freedom, she is already preparing a new plan for her future.

In this process of reconstruction, Emma Coronel plans to collaborate with her lawyer and friend, Mariel Colón, in one of the music videos for her new album. The singer of «La Abogada» shared this with MundoNow.

«One of these projects is to have her model in one of my music videos,» Colón stated, without providing further details, claiming it will be a surprise for everyone and confirming that the collaboration has already been discussed.

However, returning to the modeling world is not the only goal Coronel has set for herself.

Eight months after being released from prison, the wife of the former Sinaloa Cartel leader is, according to her lawyer, «working hard» with a new team to launch a series of projects.

«Emma is obviously on probation, but she is free… she clearly wants to become a businesswoman and start her own ventures,» Colón asserts.

Coronel, who was sentenced to three years in prison and four years of supervised release after pleading guilty to drug trafficking and money laundering for the Sinaloa Cartel, is determined to distance herself from her past.

To this end, the model has presented a range of projects through her lawyer’s Instagram account, including writing a book about very intimate aspects of her life.

She is also reviving the launch of a clothing line, which was suspended in 2021 after she was arrested just weeks before the release of her first collection.

«She has several proposals. Besides the clothing line, we will also see her involved in some other projects,» Colón noted.

Coronel’s first interaction with those closely following her career occurred on May 14, when she revealed her new look on her new Instagram account, @emmacoronel9oficial, leaving behind her signature raven-black hair.

«She’s very excited, working with her team to prepare everything, absolutely everything,» the lawyer explains, hoping that one of her first projects can be realized before the end of 2024.

«Obviously, it’s a lengthy process that takes time. If things are going to be done right, they will be done right, and that takes time,» Colón added.
