Doris Maricela, an immigrant from Lempira, Honduras, living in Phoenix, Arizona, suffered a year-long ordeal because of her stalker.

On Monday, July 1, 2024, Doris Maricela Aguilar was reported missing after she left for the store at 8:30 PM.

Doris Maricela Aguilar’s family became alarmed because she had been suffering from Juan José Velis Cuéllar’s stalking for a year.

According to the investigation, Doris met Juan José in the same building where they worked last year.

However, Juan José Velis Cuéllar became obsessed with her, despite Doris giving him no reason for such a sick passion.

The harassment escalated to the point where Doris had to change gyms several times because her stalker would ‘casually’ find her.

A Private Investigator Joined the Search for the Young Woman

Due to the harassment, Juan José Velis Cuéllar was fired from his job for the true hell he put Doris Maricela Aguilar through.

Doris told her family that if anything ever happened to her, the responsible person would be her obsessive stalker.

On July 7, 2024, PPD officers searching for Doris found her abandoned car at Christown Shopping Center.

The young woman’s family hired a private investigator to help authorities solve her disappearance.

The Bodies Were Found in a Parked Car in Phoenix

At 8:25 PM on July 7, 2024, the PPD responded to a report of two people inside a car in the same position for several days.

The PPD arrived at the intersection of 75th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard. The car was a rental vehicle rented by a Hispanic man.

Inside the vehicle, officers found Doris Maricela Aguilar deceased, showing signs of decomposition for several days.

In the driver’s seat was her stalker, Juan José Velis Cuéllar, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Doris Maricela was murdered by her stalker.

«Doris Feared Velis Cuéllar,» Said the Investigator

Steve Fischer, the private investigator hired by Doris Maricela Aguilar’s family, revealed details following the young woman’s brutal murder.

«This man stalked her for over a year… she rejected his advances from day one and went about her own business,» Fischer said about the dramatic case.

According to the investigator, «Doris feared Velis Cuéllar. She cried the last time she saw him waiting for her in the parking lot.»

Private investigator Steve Fischer confirmed on his social media that Doris Maricela Aguilar «told people close to her that if anything happened to her, Velis Cuéllar was responsible.»
