New details about the murder of a Mexican singer come to light

Once again, the wave of violence in Mexico rears its head, this time affecting Mexican music, following the murder of a beloved singer.

Juan Carlos Reyes Félix, founder of ‘Carlos y los Infieles’, fell victim to a brutal murder on the Xpuhil-Chetumal highway. Born on February 9, 1971, at the age of 53, he leaves behind a musical and entrepreneurial legacy.

The crime occurred around 10:00 in the morning as Juan Carlos and his wife were traveling in their red Lincoln SUV from Calakmul to Chetumal.

They were intercepted by armed men in the ejido 20 de Noviembre, where Juan Carlos was instantly killed, his body remaining in the vehicle.

Juan Carlos’s wife was seriously injured and urgently transferred to the IMSS clinic in Xpujil.

Witnesses to the attack alerted authorities by calling 911, leading to police intervention at the crime scene.

Upon arrival, the police informed the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Campeche about the terrible event. At the moment, the motives behind this violent act are unknown, and an investigation has been initiated.
