Cynthia de la Vega is fired from Miss Universe Mexico

According to a statement issued by the organization, the decision was made with the objective of improving the fulfillment of the vision and mission of Miss Universe Mexico.

Osmel Sousa, president of the organization, highlighted that the new leadership will continue to promote excellence and the empowerment of women in the country.

Miss Universe Mexico made the announcement on Instagram.

«After an exhaustive evaluation carried out by Osmel Sousa, it has been determined that a change is necessary in the National Directorate of Mexico,» the statement reads.

«We thank Cynthia De La Vega for the time she was in charge of Miss Universe Mexico,» the statement added.

«We are confident that this new leadership will continue to promote excellence and the empowerment of women in the country.»

«And it will work closely with the International Organization, meeting standards of professionalism,» it continues.

Lupita Jones sparks controversy

«It is with deep sadness that I announce the official separation of my position as National Director,» she posted on her official Instagram account.
