The incident occurred following an altercation with an immigration officer, which led to the denial of his entry into the country.

Gutiérrez had a tour planned across several Colombian cities, now at risk of being postponed.

The news broke through a Facebook post in which Gutiérrez complained about the treatment he received.

The singer claimed he was detained for calling the immigration officer a «communist» after being treated disrespectfully.

“Detained at Cartagena airport for calling an immigration officer a communist,” he wrote on social media.

Gutiérrez compared his treatment in Colombia to his experiences in Cuba, calling it «the worst of his life.»

In the early hours of Wednesday, the artist announced that his tour might be postponed due to the situation.

The Cartagena Immigration Department also denied entry to Amaury Gutiérrez’s team.

The singer said he was being held in unsuitable conditions, unable to return to Miami or travel to another country.

The artist and his manager spent the night sleeping on the floor of a detention room at the airport.

Gutiérrez expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to his fans and thanked them for their support during this difficult time.
