Teen suspect Colt Gray, 14, was transferred to the Gainesville Detention Center this Thursday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) identified him on Wednesday as the alleged shooter in the tragic incident at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.

According to the GBI, Colt Gray will be formally charged with murder for his involvement in the shooting, which has shocked the school community.

Gray, a student at Apalachee High School, used a «semi-automatic rifle» in the attack that left four dead and nine injured.

Among the deceased are two 14-year-old students and two teachers who died at the scene of the attack.

The nine injured victims were rushed to local hospitals for medical attention.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) revealed that Colt Gray had been questioned in May 2023 for online school shooting threats.

Investigations were initiated after receiving several anonymous reports, including photos of firearms, which raised concerns among authorities.

Despite being questioned in 2023, Colt Gray denied any involvement with the threats, while his father claimed that all weapons in their home were inaccessible to him without supervision.

The FBI will continue collaborating with local authorities to clarify the facts.

Chris Hosey, director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, stated that «many pieces of evidence» related to the incident are currently being recovered and analyzed.

Hosey emphasized that there is no evidence suggesting Gray acted with accomplices or that other schools are at risk.

This tragic event has reignited the debate about school safety and the need for stricter control over access to firearms.

Parents, students, and teachers at Apalachee High School remain in shock following the events.
