- Facing Multiple Serious Charges
- Could Face 180 Years in Prison
Colin Gray, the father of the teenager accused in the deadly Apalachee High School shooting, has requested to be separated from other inmates in jail.
The request was filed by Gray’s lawyers, according to court documents from the Barrow County Superior Court.
Colin Gray, 54, has received an “incalculable number of threats,” some even calling for his death.
The motion argues that these feelings of anger and retribution could also exist among inmates at the Barrow County Detention Center.
Risk of Violence and Serious Charges Against Colin Gray
“It would be reckless to assume that there are no inmates who wish to harm him,” the request submitted to the court stated.
Colin Gray faces four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of child cruelty.
Last Friday, during his initial court appearance, no bail was requested.
The judge informed him that, if the charges are combined, Gray could face up to 180 years in prison.
