Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced that her administration is working on a special plan to address the challenges posed by the future Trump administration.
During her morning press conference at the National Palace, Sheinbaum emphasized that one of the government’s priorities will be defending the rights of Mexican migrants.
She reiterated her administration’s stance against criminalizing migrants and highlighted the importance of their economic and social contributions to the U.S.
Sheinbaum also noted that the Mexican government will present concrete data on the positive impact of Mexican workers on the U.S. economy.

“Clearly, we do not agree with treating migrants as criminals,” the president said.
“For that, justice institutions exist everywhere in the world, and that’s why I emphasized this yesterday, and we will continue to do so,” she added.

“We have quantified this, and we will present it in due course when we meet with President Trump’s team,” Sheinbaum stated.
During the press conference, she underscored “the importance of the work that Mexican men and women do in the United States.”
Claudia Sheinbaum also highlighted “how much they pay in taxes, the high-quality work they perform, and the U.S.’s need for these workers.”
“This is a key point we need to define,” she affirmed.
“In case there are deportations, we will welcome all Mexican nationals,” Sheinbaum said at the National Palace.
“We have a plan for that, but we are working to ensure it doesn’t come to deporting our compatriots,” she added.
The Mexican president emphasized, “On the contrary, they even benefit the U.S. economy.”
Sheinbaum stressed that these efforts will focus on strengthening Mexican consulates in the U.S.
Additionally, Sheinbaum announced that a meeting with her cabinet would be held that same day to define priority topics for the future bilateral relationship with Trump.
“Now, we have a plan. In fact, today we’ll hold a meeting to address various topics, including trade, migration, security, culture, and even friendship, as part of the agenda,” she explained.
“So far, there is no scheduled meeting (with Trump), but we hope one will happen so we can present all this information,” she added.
“Sometimes, with just one unsupported statement, accusations are made against Mexican men and women in the United States. Strengthening the consulates is another key point,” she concluded.
Claudia Sheinbaum’s announcement comes at a crucial time for U.S.-Mexico relations, historically marked by tensions over migration and trade.
With this strategic plan, the president aims not only to defend the interests of Mexican migrants but also to strengthen bilateral ties, Infobae reported.
