Some even think of them like children, but nothing could be further from the truth. In reality, this is rarely the case.

Robert Sherman Wright is sentenced to 100 years in prison

Therefore, I believe that while we should respect their grey hair and life experience, it is not always good to treat them as naive individuals.

Today, I want to share the case of a 79-year-old man who has just been sentenced to spend a century behind bars.

Roger Sherman Wright is from Lilburn, Georgia.

He is likely to spend the rest of his life behind bars.

What did he do? 

Wright has just been sentenced to 100 years in prison, followed by 20 years on probation.

In essence, he would be in prison for a century.

It turns out this elderly man had in his possession not one, not two, not even 100… but over 50,000 illicit images.

He was found to have at least 200 videos and over 49,900 explicit photos of minors being sexually abused by adults.

His IP address gave him away

It’s horrifying to think he spent so much time viewing such atrocities.

Perhaps what Roger Sherman Wright did not realize was that the moment he accessed those sites, typically operated from abroad, he put himself on the radar of state authorities.

Every device that provides Wi-Fi has a unique identifier, much like one’s fingerprints.

That’s how authorities were able to locate his house and set up surveillance.

For months police documented him visiting these illicit sites and downloading photos and videos.

They finally decided to raid his home, convinced they would find enough evidence against him, but they did not expect to find such a quantity.

His laptop, smartphone, tablet and an external hard drive were confiscated.

These devices contained child pornography and he was charged with child sexual exploitation.

He’ll spend the rest of his life behind bars

Despite the horrific scenes Roger viewed, he downloaded and stored them without any remorse, as evidenced in his trial.

His arrest took place in September 2022, and his trial took place on Friday.

In just a few hours, he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. It went poorly for the old man, but he brought it upon himself by being a pervert.
