With over 600 thousand followers on Instagram, James reminisces about his journey on the Telemundo morning show, ‘Un Nuevo Día,’ from which he was dismissed in 2020.

«I knew it was going to happen,» confesses James, revealing his premonitions about the abrupt end of his contract.

«I spoke with my boss, who was also my personal friend before she became my boss, and I told her, ‘Desi, in a month, you’re going to let me go,'» he recounted about the situation.

«She, not being able to hide things very well, had a fit of hysteria and nervousness at the same time, and I told her, ‘I know,'» he added.

Chef James faces work situations

«Moreover, a month before, I told Rashel, ‘They’re going to fire you in a month.’ I knew it; I had connections. And they told me, ‘They’re going to let her go first, and then they’re going to let you go,'» he explained to Rodner.

During his 11 years on the show, the chef faced numerous farewells from colleagues, nostalgically recalling the difficult process of saying goodbye to those he considered close friends.

However, he admits without hesitation his relief at the departure of a certain individual whose presence had turned the work environment into a true nightmare.

«I celebrated when they got rid of him,» James admitted without revealing the name of the colleague they fired and with whom he didn’t have a good relationship.

Confession speaks about host

«That person was a nightmare for everyone. It was dreadful. It didn’t last long because there came a point where it was unbearable,» added Chef James.

«I always had very good and positive relationships with many executives in the network, and they themselves were like, ‘We don’t know what to do with this individual,'» he said.

According to the famous chef’s words, the presenter whose identity he didn’t reveal, «was too difficult from every perspective.»

The chef also recounted an experience he found utterly «horrible» with the presenter in the program’s dressing rooms.

«I go into my dressing room and close the door because I was changing, and this individual comes in, and when he does, he says, ‘Nobody is good for anything on this show,'» recounted James.

«‘If it were up to me, I’d fire everyone, including the producers.’ And he didn’t know I was there,» he continued. «It was horrible, I swear those were the most difficult days to go to work.»
