After months of maintaining a low profile, Cazzu has openly spoken for the first time about her relationship with Christian Nodal.

She also shared the impact that period had on her personal and artistic life.

The artist, known for her unique style in urban music, had previously avoided commenting publicly on her breakup with the regional Mexican singer.

Aguilar had claimed the Argentine singer was aware of the new romance and that “no one got hurt.”

Now, with the release of her new album Latinaje, Cazzu opens up and shares intimate details about her romantic experience and her new journey as a mother.

“The first songs were written more than three years ago. During that time, I became a mom and discovered life from a new perspective. I was also in a relationship like I had never experienced before,” she revealed to Vogue.

“I never imagined having a family. No matter how long it lasted, it was a beautiful time, full of love, very hopeful,” she confessed.

Cazzu explained that everything she lived through during that time deeply influenced the creation of her new work—not only through her love for her daughter Inti, but also through the intense emotions she went through.

“That definitely influenced some of the songs—the love for my baby, that stage in my life, all kinds of experiences, and also my inner voices,” she said.

“Something I tend to do is that even when my life is perfect, I write songs that imagine the worst,” the singer added, highlighting the contrast between her reality and her lyrics.

One of the most personal songs on the album is Mala suerte, which opens the record and was written during what seemed to be a happy moment in her life.

“‘I was born with such bad luck,’ says the song, and I wrote it during a great moment in my life. Everyone was like, ‘How the hell did you write that if everything’s going so well?’” she shared.

“The song talks about the fear of loss. When you’re in love, sometimes this ghost creeps in—what will happen if you lose everything? And then you lose everything, and life goes on,” she reflected with maturity.

In addition to opening her heart about her past relationship, Cazzu also talked about her unexpected transformation into motherhood.

“I think it’s the biggest change. I didn’t really believe that story people tell about how life and your perspective shift when you become a mom—but it’s true,” she admitted.

“It’s very true,” she emphasized, underlining the impact motherhood has had on her worldview.

She also acknowledged that she had never stopped to think about motherhood from her fans’ perspective: “I realized I had never considered that many people in my audience might be moms.”

“I had occasionally seen things that touched me, like a mom with her child, and I’d find it sweet, but I hadn’t considered that many of those faces I see might already be living motherhood,” she added.

Cazzu explained that she now observes life with greater sensitivity and a reordering of her priorities: “I think your brain gets rewired. Now, the things you care about are in different places.”

Alongside the release of Latinaje, Cazzu is preparing for a new tour that promises to showcase her artistic and personal evolution following a period of introspection and growth.
