Carola Mitchell, 52, faces charges of armed robbery and first-degree kidnapping.
Additionally, Mitchell has three outstanding arrest warrants from other counties, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s records.
On May 16, Mitchell approached a house and requested water and Mexican food before offering psychic services.
Judith Ramírez told Fox13 that her mother-in-law opened the door, and that’s when Mitchell pulled out a gun and demanded money.

«She threatened to hurt my baby and me if they didn’t give her the money,» Ramírez recalled.
Police reported that Mitchell stole $12,000 in cash before fleeing in her car.
A camera captured a white Nissan Rogue leaving the area at the time of the robbery.
After a month of investigation, officers traced the car to Bradenton, Florida, where they arrested Mitchell.
Authorities stated that Carola Mitchell used her psychic services as a «front to commit robberies.»
Investigators have requested a warrant to review Mitchell’s device for potential new victims.

Ramírez shared with Fox13 that the incident deeply affected her mother-in-law, who still cries when recalling it.
Mitchell is being held without bail at the Falkenburg Road Jail.
